Back in November of last year I reviewed the Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H motherboard and was relatively impressed. The ASUS M4A785D-M Pro is another one of these micro-ATX boards offering the AMD 785G chipset. It comes in at around the same price give or take a fiver, so it’s a direct competitor of the Gigabyte model.

Is this Gigabyte motherboard the best mid-priced µATX board supporting the AMD 785 chipset? With integrated class leading AMD HD4200 graphics, Firewire, eSATA and RAID 0,1 and 5 could this be the board to buy for an ultimate budget setup? Hopefully I can let you know by the end of the review.

So here it is then the final piece of the ASUS P5E3 Deluxe review jigsaw. My Conclusion, what the board is like to live with and use on a regular basis, whether it has any annoying quirks that you don’t pick up in a review that’s written over just a few hours of testing! I spent approx £135 on this motherboard, the most expensive motherboard that I’ve ever bought BUT do I think it was money well spent or was it all a waste? |

What people really look for in a hardware review is the page on performance, the one that has all the comparison graphs. Well this is that page. Measuring the performance of a motherboard is difficult and often reviewers concentrate on gaming FPS and CPU calculations but is that really ‘motherboard performance’? |
