This new heatsink and fan from Akasa is one of the first CPU heatsink and fans that has been designed with the new Intel Core i7 CPUs in mind. It’s not all Core i7 though as it’s compatible with many other sockets too which will be good to know if it does the job of cooling well!

Review: Gigabyte HD4850 1Gb pre overclocked – (GV-R485OC-1GH)

My most recent graphics card purchase and therefore review, is an ATI Radeon HD4850 from Gigabyte. This card is the new 1Gb version which comes fitted with a Zalman cooler and pre-overclocked to 700mhz on the core, for reference the part number is GV-R480OC-1GH.

This new product from Vizo certainly looks useful, it’s a dual hard drive rack that fits in a standard external 3.5″ bay. At last there’s a useful purpose for that floppy drive slot in your case. You can now get one of these and fit not just one but two hard drives, of the 2.5″ SATA variety.

Overclocking: Pushed my XFX 7900GS from 450/660 to 580/860

The 7900GS was a pretty good budget buy when it came out and played many games at good detail settings and resolutions. However now it’s starting to show its age and could do with an overclocking boost. Fortunately the 7900GS is one of those cards that seem born to overclock.
